Fruit that has travelled hundreds and thousands of miles will never taste as good as freshly harvested local fruit. Local and foraged fruit makes the best flavoured preserves. We do however, made a special exception, when we buy Seville oranges to make marmalade and we also admit to using the occasional lemon.
