NASHTOWN CASTLE PICKLES, JAMS, JELLIES & PRESERVES. 
Home Grown, Home Made with Kilkenny Grown Fruit and Vegetables.
Where possible, the ingredients in our preserves are garden grown, foraged or locally grown. Real ingredients for real food. They are generally home grown in County Kilkenny and the preserves are always home made. Slowly and carefully created in our traditional country kitchen, using an old fashioned Aga cooker.

We have to face up to the fact that some ingredients just cannot be grown in Ireland. So, when we use imported Seville oranges to make marmalade and when we use spices, we make an effort to source the best quality available. In the case of spices, we only buy whole ones and if necessary, we grind them ourselves, to produce the best possible flavour.

TYPICAL PRESERVES & PICKLES
CHOW CHOW MARITME (A Green Tomato Relish)
Made from our heritage tomatoes, using an old Canadian recipe.

CRAB APPLE & SLOE JELLY
The ultimate foraged jelly made from the crab apples and sloes growing in the hedges nearby.

RASPBERRY & LOGANBERRY JAM
A traditional jam using two different varieties of raspberry along with loganberries for added flavour.

WHITE CURRANT JELLY
Made with white currants grown at Nashtown.

ELDERBERRY & APPLE JELLY
A treacle like jelly specially made to go with venison and game.  

 RED GOOSEBERRY & ELDERBERRY JUICE JAM
Our own ripe gooseberries with added foraged elderberry juice.

PEAR, FIG & APPLE CHUTNEY
A chutney made from our own figs and our neighbour's pears, using our own onions.

CUCUMBER PICKLES
Garden grown cucumbers and garden grown onions pickled in wine vinegar.
